Fourth District GOP Salutes "Chief" Heineman

RALEIGH, N.C. - March 22, 2010 - The Fourth Congressional District of the North Carolina Republican Party salutes Congressman Fred Heineman, former Chief of the Raleigh Police Department and member of US House of Representatives from 1994-96, at the announcement of his passing.

“The ‘Chief’ was one-of-a-kind and we salute his service to our city, state and district,” said Zan Bunn, Chair of the Fourth District Executive Committee. “Everyone remembers how Fred won election to the US House of Representatives in 1994, and served the people of the 4th District admirably. Thank you, Chief!”

Prior to his election to Congress, Heineman served as the Chief of Raleigh Police Department for 15 years. A Marine veteran and native of New York, Heineman spent his final years in Wake County, always willing to share a good story or a good laugh.

Fourth District GOP Announces 2010 Convention

RALEIGH, N.C. – March 15, 2010 – The Fourth Congressional District of the North Carolina Republican Party will hold its annual convention on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 9am at the Holiday Inn Brownstone Hotel, 1707 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC.

“As a faithful supporter of Nancy Pelosi, David Price supports high taxes, big government, and a threat to the American Dream,” said Zan Bunn, chair of the Fourth District Executive Committee. “If you own or patronize a small business in the Triangle, the Pelosi-led Congress is assaulting the ability to conduct business everyday, whether you’re an Apex accountant, Cary caterer, Durham dentist, Hillsborough hairstylist, Pittsboro painter or Raleigh realtor. David Price is a liberal elitist who supports Nancy Pelosi’s agenda and that is not good for North Carolina.”

At the April 17th convention, elected delegates from Chatham, Durham, Orange and Wake Counties will discuss the matters of the 4th District, as well as hear from candidates around the district.
